Security Systems

Below is a brief description of the basic levels of Security System Detection. Its very important that the Customer has a clear understanding of the Alarm Systems they are having installed.
Level 1: This is a very affordable alarm system that will fit most budgets.  This levels detects entry through doors or activation of the motion detector when you are away from your home.
Level 2: Adds a second layer of detection by placing contacts on the downstairs windows.
Level 3: Includes everthing in the above levels plus adds glassbreak detection. One of the biggest disadvantages of the previous levels is that an intruder can break the glass without opening the window or door and the system will not go into alarm. Level 3 detection solves this problem.

Keypads come any many different styles and configurations. The addition of a keypad in the Master Bedroom allows the user to see the status of their alarm system without having to leave the security of their bedroom. Touchscreen keypads offer many features including event logs and the ability to control lights and view cameras all from one safe locaction.

Keyfob

This is a very poplar upgrade for our Customers. This device is similar to the same remote used with most vehicles to arm and disarm the alarm system. This device when monitored also has a panic button that will alert the Police or Fire Department when pressed. A great safety feature when entering your home at night.
Glass Break Detectors
Most Customers believe that the window / door contacts alone will detect someone breaking into their home, however for the Alarm System to be activated the window or door must be opened. If someone was to break the glass without opening the window/door, the alarm system would not activate, and the intruder would be able to walk in undetected. This is where the glass break detectors come in. They detect the breakage of glass thus creating a secondary level of early detection.
Smoke Detectors
Most homes today should have smoke detectors installed. These smoke detectors are normally connected to the electrical system and have no way of reporting to the Fire Department. There have been several situations where the homeowner was overwhelmed by smoke before the smoke detectors sounded. When you place the smoke detectors on the alarm system you have the peace of mind knowing that the fire department will be on the way.
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Carbon Monoxide is a very dangerous odorless gas. Without a carbon monoxide detector its almost impossible to detect a problem until it is too late. Many deaths could be prevented by these devices. Location of these detectors is extremely important. Whether you install these on the electrical system or on the alarm system, no home should be without them.

Motion Detectors

Motions Detectors are one of the most efficient ways to detect someone entering your home when you are away. These detectors should be placed on the first and second floor in the main walk areas of the home. Motion Detectors work by sensing heat as it moves from one location to another.
Sirens
Homes that have alarm systems already installed should have at least two sirens. The main siren should be located in the attic so that it can be heard from outside the home. The second siren should be located inside the home to alert you to a possible intruder. Many times alarm systems only have one siren outside, this will not be loud enough to hear from the inside of the house.
Monitoring/Cellular Backup
We offer monitoring for you alarm systems. The system will report any alarm over the standard telephone line to our Central Station Office who will contact the proper Authorities.
Cellular Backup is another monitoring option that is popular with our monitoring customers. This system is a backup system to the conventional phone line monitoring. In the case where the phone line to the home is cut, your alarm system will report all system alarms over cellular transmission. Thus allowing the signals to get through to the proper authorities. No more worrying about someone cutting your phone lines and disabling your alarm system.

Strobes
Strobe Lights are great way to visually alert emergency personel to your home in the case of a alarm. Many times it is hard to distinguish which house the siren is coming from. At night it is even more difficult trying to find address numbers on the house. During a alarm these strobes flash, thus bringing quick attention to your home.
