We have compiled a list of common questions that Customers have asked us over the years.

Panels and Breakers:
* How do I reset my breaker?
Answer   Circut Breakers must first be switched to the off position and then to the on position before they will reset.
* I have a breaker that keeps tripping, can I just put in a larger breaker to solve the problem?
Answer No, Breakers are designed to shut off power to a electrical circuit do to a short or a overload. The breaker could be tripping simply because it is doing it job. Replacing the breaker with a larger breaker would create a potential fire hazzard. If a breaker keeps tripping after your reset it. You should call a license electrician to make the necessary repairs. This is not a Do It Yourself job.
* I noticed that there is two wires connected to one breaker in my electrical panel. Is this safe?
Answer No, Only 1 wire or circuit should be connected to a single breaker. A new breaker should be installed and sized according to the load applied.
* I have heard that certain electrical panels are considered not safe.  How do I know if mine is one of them?
Answer Federal Paciffic and Zinsco are two of the main panel that have so safety concerns. Banks Electric recommends replacement of these electrical panels and not just the breakers.
